A practical quality-check plan for customized products made in Asia

Quality checks work best when everyone knows what “correct” means. The agreed specification and approved sample are more useful than a vague promise to inspect the order.

Decide what can be measured

List the features that matter to the person using the product: dimensions, material, color, print position, stitching, closure, completeness and packing. For each, record a clear target and an acceptable tolerance where appropriate.

  • Critical function and safety-related requirements
  • Visible branding and finish
  • Quantity, pack count and carton identification

Check at useful moments

Review an early production unit before the whole run is finished. This makes it easier to correct a repeated error. Check again near completion and before shipment, when packaging and order quantities can be confirmed.

Make differences actionable

If something differs from the approved reference, record photos, affected quantity and a proposed correction. Decide who approves a rework or replacement. Keep decisions in one written record rather than scattered messages.

  • What differs, and from which reference?
  • How many units are affected?
  • Can it be corrected before shipment?

Keep import documents aligned

Confirm product descriptions, quantities, packing information and destination with the shipping documents. The buyer should know who coordinates these details and who answers questions when the shipment moves to Europe.

MDA Trade’s team in Asia can follow production close to the source, check against the approved sample and coordinate the import journey.
